I haven't been to Vegas since I was 12. I am going this weekend and am only interested in playing Texas Hold 'm. I am curious to know how small the tables can get in value and which casinos accommodate this game most.

The poker boom of the last 10 years or so has made finding a good game in just about any price range very easy. There are somewhere between 15 and 20 Strip casinos that have poker rooms, and perhaps a half-dozen Downtown. The biggest poker rooms on the Strip are found in the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, the MGM Grand, the Mirage, the Venetian and the Wynn. Even at these upscale places, you can almost always find $1/$2 no-limit Hold 'em available.
If you want to play Downtown, your places to look are Binions, the El Cortez, Fitzgeralds, the Golden Nugget and the Plaza.
I'm no player myself — I don't have the patience to sit through the long spells of waiting for decent cards — but there's an excellent website I check whenever I have questions regarding poker. I highly recommend AllVegasPoker.com. It's a very good resource and worth checking out. Let them know the good folks at FirstTimeLasVegas.com sent you their way.
