Airport info

McCarran International Airport (LAS)

Ah, the airport. Set your bags down, stretch out a bit, and breathe in the "cough, cough, cough!" nasty, smoky, Las Vegas air. Oh, man. What is there, a forest fire nearby? No, that's what Vegas smells like.

The airport is similar to all airports. There are Starbucks, and Chili's in case you're undercaffeinated or eager to start your Vegas trip with a belt of grease and beer.

All international flights land in Terminal 2. There's a bus to Terminal 1 where taxis, buses, and limos pick up and drop off out front –exits 1-5.

Buses
Route 108 runs from the airport parallel The Strip to Fremont Street Downtown. One trip is $1.25 and a day pass is $5.00.

Taxis
There's a long line for taxis and they can be expensive. A ride to The Strip or Downtown might cost you $15. Split it with friends. It's a lot quicker than the bus.

Limos
If you've got four or five friends a limo might be as cheap as a taxi and you get a free bottle of champagne to kick off your trip. Schedule ahead to have a limo pick you and your friends up, skip the line, and ride into Vegas for your first time like you own the city.

Thanks Steve the Texan. I'll keep that in mind.

There are several Strip hotels that offer airport checkin. To be honest, though, I've never seen it save much time, if any.

I understand that I can check-in to the Treasure Island Hotel @ the Airport. Is this Correct?

    Thanx Much,
    Pete
