Much is made about Las Vegas being a 24-hour city, and that label is entirely true. Things never do get slow, no matter the time of day or night. But what that slogan doesn't mention is that 24 hours is a LOT of time to fill for a visitor. Especially since it's not likely you'll be spending a full eight hours in bed (if you get six a night, consider yourself way more well-rested than most of the pack). Not even the most hardcore of gamblers can fill all the time at the tables. So what to do when not gambling?

One thing worth stressing: Don't try to do too much. There's no way you're going to get around to trying everything you want to try in your first few trips. It's better to have simply a loose plan of activities, then adjust once you get there. It's almost certain you'll discover something you really like — maybe find out you have a deep love for cheap shrimp cocktails, for example — and you'll want to spend as much time as you like doing that, instead of rushing to follow a plan previously put together on paper.
