LVH

Area: Strip

(NOTE: Prior to a name change on Jan. 3, 2012, the LVH-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino was known as the Las Vegas Hilton.)

  • Barry Manilow plays here regularly. So, uh... bonus points for that?
  • Linked to the Las Vegas Convention Center via skywalk.
  • Built in the 1970s but recently remodeled to compete with the plush New Vegas hotels like the Bellagio and the Wynn.
  • Also has a cabaret and Broadway shows.
  • On the north end of the Strip by Circus Circus, the Las Vegas Country Club and Wynn golf course.
  • Linked via monorail to MGM Grand, Ballys / Paris, Flamingo, Harrahs / The Quad, and the Convention Center.
  • One of the very best sports books around.

The monorail does run to the Strip, going all the way to the MGM Grand with, I believe, 4 stops between the Hilton and there.

Tickets for the monorail are $5 for a single ride, $12 for a 1-day pass or $28 for a 3-day pass. If you want to purchase them in advance you can get them on the monorail website.

We are looking at staying at the Hilton. Is the monorail connected to the strip?
