Jessica, I don't think it's likely there will be any problems for your December trip. The Riv went through some financial trouble about a year back, but the situation appears to have stabilized since then.
With the recent closing of the Sahara, though, the Riviera is kind of isolated on that end of the Strip. It's a fair walk to the section of the Strip where most casinos are located.

3 of us will be booking in early December 2011 whats the situation with the hotel. They are still takeing bo0kings so is there likely to be a problem once we have paid if their financial position is in strife

Simon, the Riv is still dealing with some serious financial issues, but it seems likely that it will be open during the time you will visit.

Hi, I have booked to stay at the Riviera hotel for 2 weeks in June 2010, but I have just heard that there is a possibility that the hotel will be closing and going into liquidation? has anyone heard anything about this. Many thanks.
